  • Begin the Probing: Hold the probe like a pen or pencil with a gentle but firm grip.Start with the first tooth or area you want to examine.
  • Insertion: Gently insert the pointed end of the probe into the periodontal pocket between the tooth and the gum. The probe should be parallel to the tooth's surface.

  • Continue Examination: Repeat the process for each tooth and periodontal pocket in the patient's mouth, moving systematically through the entire dentition.

  • Discuss Findings with the Patient: If necessary, discuss the results with the patient, and explain any recommended treatments or further evaluations.
  • Clean and Sterilize the Probe: After use, clean and sterilize the probe according to the manufacturer's guidelines to maintain infection control standards
